A reeanctment of an aesthetic seemingly “Beautiful”. The “beauty” in this video derives from the visual language of the Orient in popular culture as well as from its narrative traditions, such as in Persian miniature paintings, just as much as it does from contemporary kitsch in the west. This same aesthetic is also instrumentalized for the purpose of political and/or religious propaganda in Iran, such as for public celebration of martyrs of the Iran-Iraq war (1980–1988) visible on wall paintings in the streets or in video clips on TV.
